A major mixed-use scheme by THAT Group will regenerate Southsea’s iconic Knight & Lee building.

Making the old new again

The development will comprise of a hotel, coworking/serviced office space, food & beverage, retail, luxury cinema, and boutique gym.

Formerly home to a John Lewis department store, the sensitive redevelopment of this much-loved and now Grade II listed building will bring a new lease of life to Southsea high street.

Our Plans

Within this already iconic building, we will be creating:

  • International-class Hotel Indigo, part of IHG group
  • Modern serviced offices by our coworking/serviced office brand THIS Workspace
  • Luxury independent cinema – two screens
  • Boutique Gym by SWEAT
  • Retail units
  • Extensive food and beverage offering

With exceptional design and a focus on lifestyle, Knight & Lee is set to become a significant culture hub for locals, professionals, and visitors alike.

About Us

THAT Group are design-led property developers; we create buildings that enrich communities and become beloved landmarks for locals and visitors. We only take on projects we truly believe in and we stand by these projects for the long-term.

Passionate about the South Coast of England in particular, we have created stunning Hilton and Hampton by Hilton hotels in Bournemouth and Torquay, as well as vibrant restaurants, rooftop bars and modern coworking spaces.

THAT way of working with the community

Everything we do comes from our love of community and our love of the South Coast. We are passionate about connecting with local businesses and making memorable moments for communities. No matter how big or small a project is, from building major mixed-use schemes to hosting pop-up art galleries, our priority is always to create remarkable experiences for the community.
